Nature Burial

Interment of an urn in a designated woodland — Friedwald or Ruheforst. Nature itself takes care of the grave.

A nature burial is the interment of an urn outside a conventional cemetery, for example in one of the designated woodland areas such as Friedwald or Ruheforst.

The Process and Cremation

A woodland burial is always preceded by cremation. After cremation, the urn is buried at the base of a chosen tree. Nature then takes care of the grave naturally. The urn is made from natural, biodegradable materials so as not to harm the environment.

Friedwald and Ruheforst

Friedwald and Ruheforst are specially designated woodlands in Germany intended for nature burials. The family selects a specific tree at whose base the urn will be interred. This place becomes a permanent resting place — cared for by nature itself. Visits are possible at any time.

Advantages of Nature Burial

Many people choose a nature burial for its closeness to nature, ecological character, and freedom from the ongoing maintenance of a grave. It also relieves loved ones of long-term costs associated with maintaining the burial site. We will help you choose a suitable woodland and organise the entire procedure.
